Tribological Properties of Cu-Based Self-Lubricating Materials Composed with Cu- or Ni-Plated Graphite

Cu-based self-lubricating materials can effectively adapt to complex natural environments and ensure consistency in used for switch transitions. These were tested through interface reinforcement research, improving their mechanical tribological properties providing a theoretical basis new slide baseplate materials. Results showed that the coefficient of friction wear weight loss decreased with an increase graphite content after Cu Ni plating on surface, reaching minimum value at 6 wt.%. The Ni-plated material reduced 11.1% 85.6%, respectively, whereas Cu-plated 7.2% 78.4%, respectively. Compared plating, substantially enhanced performance increased adhesion pin surface adhesive materials’ composition was consistent lubricating film, which changed grinding mechanism between disk. had stronger effect than plating.
